Easy to do and worked great

Hardest part was selecting a color to order for my beard but luckily ended up guessing correctly.
The kit is labeled with steps/instructions very clearly which makes it a pinch to get started and use. The dye worked great. It applied easily and acheived the salt and pepper partial coverage I was looking matching my hair. It looks really natural and took to my beard hair without any issues and didn't dye my skin at all (even places where I over shot with application). Didn't smell insanely chemical-y or irritate my skin. Highly recommend.
Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5...
- the coloring cream in tube seems like it comes out semi-mixed with a lighter cream and a much darker pigment separated. Which made mixing inconsistent. This might be as intended for the color but not sure.
- Super minor but I wish subscription kits could simplified after first order. ie. reduce cost and waste with options to leave out new instructions, gloves, flimsy plastic mixing dish, and/or face wash (menthol scrub was awesome but I have a regular face scrub that I use).

Except for one glaring difference. I keep a short beard— stubble really— but I despise my grey. To keep a short style and the ginger color I want requires coloring every few days. And the color— not orange or weird, but exactly my natural color. I’m the past the only alternative was cheap (not so cheap money cheap quality and color) drug store brand. When the drug store decided to have it in stock. Now I’m set. Super natural, I’m back to me.

This kit is completely worth it. I used drug store beard dye for about a year, hated the smell, the burn was terrible and my beard always looked super dark and crunchy afterwards.
With Cleverman I don't have to worry about the color anymore, it's on point Everytime. There is no harsh smell or crunchy ends after I dye it. My beard is super healthy now, even with the dye. As long as I am dyeing my beard I will be a subscriber.

It's easy to use and comes with good instructions. The color looks natural. I was hoping it would have lasted longer. Within 7 days all the gray was visible full length not just at the root. Did have some shipping issues and customer service was quick to respond and very helpful.

I was out at the bar this past weekend and someone literally asked me, "What's the secret to having a perfect beard?" haha Honestly, these guys nailed it. This product is incredibly easy to use, and looks completely natural (which was my biggest concern!). I've been using it for a little over a month now, and not a single person has questioned it. Just compliments left and right on my "nice full beard."
These guys also have 5 star service. The original color I ordered wasn't quite right, and they quickly and happily sent me an alternate color. They seem very keen on making sure you're happy and "getting it right."
Wouldn't hesitate for a second recommending it!

Have used the kit for years. Apply about every 12-14 days as I have a heavy beard and fast growth. Looks great. I get about 3 applications per kit. Easy to mix up and apply. You will get better at the application over time. I get a lot of compliments on my beard, and mostly people don't know or don't care that I color it. Takes ( in my humble opinion) about 10 years off of my guessed age. No drawbacks that I have noticed. Doesn't burn my skin or cause me any distress to apply.

I like how easy this product is to mix and apply and that it only takes 5 mins to get good results.
I don't feel I need all of the items in the kit and I don't like the items in the form of packets; i.e. the barrier cream. I personally only use the cream color, cream developer, and barrier cream. In my subscription, I'd prefer to just get tubes of each of these, at refill time.

Using the website to manage the subscription is always a bit frustrating and a challenge.
The product is over packaged - someone did meticulous design with little boxes for everything - but this is so wasteful and environmentally insensitive. They could knock off 25% of the price and use less packaging.

I switched from Just for Men beard dye to Cleverman after a friend pointed out that JFM was turning my beard purple. My beard naturally has a red tint to it. Most of my beard is pure white without coloring and my face is pretty white, so I color my beard to break up the white on white. I ordered a darker shade with the stronger developer, which turned out really dark. I worked with the staff and we dialed in my products and I have been very happy with the results ever since. The range of options through Cleverman is much better than grocery store brands.

Medium Brown Kit Came Out Way Too Dark

I ordered a "custom" medium brown kit to blend some gray in a beard that I've had for about 7 months now. Upon following the instructions to the letter in applying a relatively small amount to a gray patch, it came out so dark that the only remedy was shaving my beard. I'm sure it'll work out for some, but my experience was terrible.

Unfortunately they don’t offer a solution for ginger hair which is what I have. And while my beard has gone snow white my head still has its original color, or thereabouts.
